What To Avoid In College Life To Save Money?

College life is always full of experiments, a search for an identity and also for a job. Let’s face it. Most of us have only limited pocket money to be spent during college and we have to manage all our ‘kharchas’ in the same amount. But hey! You don’t have to worry much about your kharchas. We are here to manage them all.

Our team did extensive research on this subject and we have finally come up with the ways in which you can save a lot and we mean ‘bahut sara’ paisa during your college life. Are you ready? Let’s get started.

Save Money In College

  • Stop smoking and drinking

We swear to our words. Smoking and drinking would definitely be draining your pocket. On an average, a cigarette would cost you about 10 Rupees (though the prices vary from Rs. 6 to Rs. 13). Even if you smoke 1 cigarette in a day, you will be spending 300 Rupees (30days x 10 rupees a day) in a month. If you smoke 2 cigarettes, then it would be 600 rupees and so on. Some smokers even go for smoking 5 cigarettes in a day i.e. 1500 rupees a month and some go for a higher number too. Do you think that you should be spending all your money on something that is very bad for your health? Certainly not. Smoking is not cool my friend.

Drinking is another problem with some people. You will easily spend about 500-600 rupees on one bottle of whisky. What if you consume about 2 bottles in a month? You would end up spending 1000-1200 rupees on drinking which would be detrimental to your health and even your relationships. Some people who are regular drinkers spend more money than this in a month. So it would be better to stop smoking and drinking altogether. Don’t waste your money or your life.

  • Limit outside food

It is quite common for students to eat outside food on a daily basis. This is not a healthy habit, for your body or for your budget. Hence, you should always make sure that you limit eating outside. Of course it could be difficult to avoid it in some conditions and we are not advising you to stop it altogether. However, we would suggest you to review how much you eat outside. If you are eating just because you have nothing else to do, you are doing your body and wallet a lot of harm. Just imagine how much money you would save by drinking only 1 cold drink a day, instead of 2 or 3.

  • Review your internet plan

Your internet plan eats more money that you can even imagine. So just start reviewing your data plan. Some phones come with this feature built-in. If your phone does not have this feature, download an app for it. Check your data consumption in a month and also see which apps eat away most of your data. Then try reviewing the plan and removing/using less of the apps that use most of your data. Simple!

Tell me how much money you are able to save at the end of the day!
